A High Flight

This picture taken by my friend while doing para-sliding at Caribbean sea. Coincidentally I read a poem of John Gillespie Magee and here it is:

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of; wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there
I've chased the shouting winds along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air;
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark nor even eagle flew;
And while, with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Beautiful isn't it??

The Mirage life!!!

A thirsty man walking at desert, he’s tired and exhausted!! His only need at the moment is few drops of water. He’s desperately looking some clue of water in that big empty landscape. Suddenly he saw some sign of water in distance. His hope comes alive, he thanks god, and his happiness goes at the peak. He’s putting all his remaining energy to reach the destination, his eyes on the place, his legs are unstoppable, his mind thinking so many aspects. He moves faster and faster, there it’s!! Here comes, few more yards away!!!

He reaches the place and sees nothing, not even single drop of water. He's shattered! His world suddenly become empty, he couldn’t stop his tears, and there is no one to console him. His mind asks so many questions, where is water which I saw? Which is the one betrayed me? Was it my mistake or my fate?? What actually he saw, it’s a Mirage, an optical illusion in which atmospheric refraction by a layer of hot air distorts.

The same kind of scenario happens in human life too (not many, a few). We all traveling in desert and looking for water, and one on other day we are seeing mirage. Running towards it and later came to know we are betrayed! Again some more sign of water, hopes comes alive, running again. We never give up, some do, and some won’t!

While writing this post, another aspect came in my mind. It’s about confidence and over-confidence, what’s difference? The confidence is the thirsty man thinks he will get water and kill his thirsty. The over-confidence is after having water, I will cultivate paddy here with that water.

I am one of them, looking for water. Some time with over-confidence planning to cultivate paddy in desert. I never give up, hang on! There is water, I have lot of work to do!!!!
